I’ve just stumbled across the above (quite impressed from what I’ve seen so far), but am a little confused by the opening episode. Starting with “Previously on Cardinal…” - but how can that be if this is the first episode? Am I missing something?

Perhaps they're releasing them out of order.

It's a six part serial not series so the storyline has to be in order.

I believe the "Previously on..." gives a brief insight into the main character's back story, but I find the terminology confusing as I've been unable to find anything that pre-dates the first episode - or maybe that's the whole idea.

Probably, someone did a quick copy and paste as they were packaging the anthology and forgot that the first episode is different. How many times have coders been tripped up on the idea that "first" and "last" items in a list may be different? Or, mix "zero" and "one" origin. (Could send your little space probe to the wrong planet.)

Yep, it seems you're correct.

I wasn't originally aware of it, but the show was pick up by the BBC and shown on their channel 4 - one of their minor channels. I, however found it one BT TV and checking between it and the BBC iPlayer the sequencing is definitely wrong. What's even more annoying is that they've only got 10 minutes of the second (actually third) episode.

Looks like a message of complaint is in order.

Well, that explains everything. It definitely cleared up what must have been confusing everyone about the first episode.
