Yeah, over 115,000 people decided to pre-order a brand new model car. History of the car industry says this is a bad idea.

I really want to test drive one. Not going to finance a deposit to wait 2-3 years/

The history of the auto industry is also outdated. Never has there been this much demand for a brand. While the company is not necessarily profitable it they come through on the Model 3 they will be a force for a while.

The only thing that will/ could slow this would be legislation. They make illegal to go off the grid in certain areas. I could see the same things pop up for crude dependency.

No matter what Tesla does to change the way car manufacturing works, it's still a prototype vehicle. And their S Type is still battling to fix many issues. It will be interesting to see how happy these 115,000 beta testers will be when they get their cars.

Teslas are very popular here... I have at least 7-8 clients that own them and see dozens of them on the road everyday.

One client should take delivery of the new Telsa SUV next week.  He's never owned an electric or hybrid vehicle but ordered it without eve driving one.

He got the high-end version that's supposed to do 0-60 in about 3 seconds... I'm going to ask to go for a ride!

A former client took me for a ride in his model S... holy crap! If I had the mon ey, I'd plunk it down in a heartbeat.

So, Fins, as an obvious conservative... in your own words, why the big pushback and hatred from conservatives, and the Koch brothers against Tesla?

In a prior Tesla thread a year or two ago you were all about what horrible cars they are and they would not succeed.

What is your main issue with them?

I know the conservative party sees them as some sort of threat.

BTW the model S is faster in the quarter mile than an M5. Not bad for a family sedan.

We are about electronics here at RC. Shouldn't we be supportive of this technology?

I like that they wanted their model numbers to spell out SEX.

Model S
Model 3 (Ford owns Model E copyright so Tesla changed to 3)
Model X

If Tesla built a small (current Tacoma sized) pickup truck with Model S performance and range at a somewhat sane price point, I would be all over it.

Yeah, if it's a Ford, or GM product!

Just saw on the local news people were lined up all around the block here, Saturday to place pre-orders. Elon musk says Seattle could hit 500,000 sales in Seattle if the trend continues.

Have you not figured out how to edit a post, to add more stupidity or do you think we really want to read your crap?

I guess you just replied to your own post.
