Mac, are you a conservative?

Not by any stretch of the financial or spiritual imagination.

Can i have sex with one of your imaginary Brazilian women?

Nice.

How did this seemingly nice thread get back to a personal attack on me, and the above comment about my friend (which is unneccesary) oh yeah, nevermind...

BTW one is Brazilian, the other Columbian. Nice people, who probably wouldnt appreciate your Jr. High-level comment. just sayin'

You USED to be a pretty nice guy... Did I insult you by bringing up this article?

I would wager it has something to do with this... You know because you told me to go get laid or something and i asked if i could have sex with your imaginary friends.

I know you didn't just accuse someone of acting like a Jr.High School student. Glass houses.

You USED to be a pretty nice guy... Did I insult you by bringing up this article?

You USED to seem relatively normal.

I cant get over how mean-spirited some of you guys can be. PITBULLS

Yes because pitbulls represent mean spirited. I have two that beg to differ...and they beg for food...and to go out to play...and to get your seat on the sofa.

if he said "everybody in the company would be paid exactly $70,000" you would be right but technically someone being paid 100K is being paid 70k you can't get to 100K without passing by 70K first

Nice try... Mr.Stanley thought that everyone would be paid exactly/only $70k.

Here in this post you can see that. He even makes a point to call people cry babies for expecting to be compensated more for working harder than the next guy.

He's spreading the wealth. That is close to socialism I suppose, and maybe in time, if enough of the old timers bitch, he'll come up with some fair compensation for those crybabies, er, I mean, team players.

Again...

I'd say that those resentful employees (if that occurs) can accept it, or go work for some other credit card processing company where everybody is treated like shit.

And here where he apologized for his mistake...

Maybe the salary guys who busted their ass for years can trade their 60 hour work weeks for 9-5 mop & broom jobs now...since everyone makes $70k anyway.

I've yet to see a salary guy who busts his ass yet.
Watching management at my main job is like watching the blind lead the blind. They are bout as useless as tits on a snake. Our plant runs flawless when they aren't here on weekends. Soon as salary arrives and they all are out there in job justification mode our plant goes to shit. You could make one hell of a reality show out of this place.

Ass busting is relative.

At my last job we had a guy who i assumed just hung out up front all day. It wasn't until years later that i realized/discovered just how much work that guy did. He was responsible for all shipping and receiving, order placing, proposal reviewing/system vetting/rep/disty & manufacturer relationships etc. On top of that he was responsible for everything in the store from the display cases to whether or not the tile grout needed to be cleaned. And im sure a million other things i am not aware of. All i did was man the service department 1/8 of the time and do 1-day installs. 1 day meaning old school speakers amp cd player tv. Way back in the mid 90's before all of the automation and crazy DAV.

I have never worked anywhere that had more than 10 employees. I don't even know what it would be like to have hundreds of coworkers. I bet i could get lost and go days without doing any work :).

Damn, I'm doing it wrong then. Thanks. I'm going to quit skipping lunch, working until 8:00pm on Fridays, programming from home at night, and answering clients phone calls on the weekends.

Most companies that have salary positions expect their salary employees to put in 50 to 60 hours of work a week. Our office manager retired from a major telephone and telegraph company (works part time for something to do now). He said he used to tell the people under him, he would never bother them between 1:00am and 4:30am. That was their time to do as they wished. Everything else was his if he needed it. Don't take that as some ego trip on his part, it meant they were expected to do the tasks their job descriptions listed. He didn't ask anything out of them that he didn't do.

I meant physically busting their ass not mentally. Like patching holes on a 3,500 degree furnace for a 12 hour shift dressed in heavy firemen like gear soaked in sweat head to toe worse then if you jumped into a pool.

Or chipping ice out of the inside of a frozen conveyor shoot on the top of a 100 foot building then 30 foot up a ladder when its -10 out with 30mph winds with a metal crowbar and 5 minutes into this 12 hour day ur hands are so cold and in pain you could cry.

Or shoveling 500 tons of glass out of a pit because an elevator belt when down and the system didn't automatically shut off and it kept feeding.

Or working in a 120 degree environment in a tyvek suit with a full face respirator on that has 1 inch deep of sweat pooled up in the bottom of it while you work on a tin tetrachloride anhydrous baghouse that has 188 50 foot long bags over cages that you have to tear out to check for tears. Meanwhile this powdery chemical sticks all over you and slowly eats away at your skin. (ironically this reminds me of being up in an attic with blown insulation stuck all over your sweaty body running miles of cable mid summer... ugghhhhh)

working 14 12 hour days in a row. 50-60 hours ha that's cake.
Or working 10 12 hr day shifts in a row then having to immediately reverse your sleep schedule to 12 hr night shifts with no days off and work another 10 straight.

work every holiday. every Christmas eve/day, thanksgiving day/eve, new years eve/day for a decade until you finally have enough seniority to maybe get one of those off.

working till 8 on a Friday... ha try never having a weekend off ever.

having absolutely zero sick time and no paid leave.

skipping lunch.... ha try not getting a single break for a 12 hour shift and every time you do manage to finally sit down for break the second you get your food heated up you get paged off break for a problem. Or having to piss so bad you can cry for 4 hours but you cant walk away from the job for a second to even do that.

that's the kind of busting your ass work i was talking about. Better work harder though....Gotta earn the salary team their bonus's and christmas parties at the casino though. what a joke.

i'll never miss factory work. thats for sure. or working for a large corporation.
let alone one with 35,000 employees. Sometimes the $, benefits, etc just isn't worth it. Being your own boss and starting a biz can def be scary, money can be ridiculously tight and everything else that goes with it but there's also a lot to be said for working for yourself.

So your real issue is that the salary guys didn't jump on the line and take part in the physical labor. Sorry, that's why they went to school and got the white collar job.

A common saying around the world:

"You know the biggest problem with America?"
What?
"It's full of F#####G Americans"

There are times i disagree with this statement but honestly, I mostly agree.

As I read through this thread i cant help but think that to some of you, this would be an appropriate national anthem.

Classic Leary, tracheotomy man is another one.

There are assholes in every country in every part of the world. Hell I are one.

I think our biggest problem is truly believing we are the best, biggest, baddest, smartest country in the world and nothing bad can happen here.

The sad truth is we cant even balance our own check book and be self sufficient.

"We are the best country in the world, can we have some more money please"

Great way to teach our youth about credit, our elected officials need to go visit Dave Ramsey.

We are raising a country of mediocre people at best.

Our education system sucks.

For the most part its not the wealthy illegal immigrants that are crossing our borders freely, they have it figured out were they are.

There are bad times ahead for this country, when I don't know but they are a comin.

Our education system does not suck. Our K-12 system is mediocre at best. However, as one of our clients pointed out (former fortune 100 CEO and now sits on several Fortune 500 boards), we have the best university system in the world. People struggle from all over the world to come here to get an education. Our export now should be doctors and engineers.

No it's that they are completely useless and incompetent. What I was really pointing out was that in my opinion... it's laughable to me when I read a post saying owh a salary guy "bust his ass" to get where he is. He put in 50 hours and answered some calls on the weekend. Ha. What a joke. That's a walk in the park. U call that hard work. Killing me.

You have to be a moron to take a salary job at this place. Perhaps that's why management sucks. the benefits blow, the pension is nonexistent for them, most make less then us. I'm telling ya. It's a total circus watching these clowns

And school is a joke. I have a degree. What a waste of $ that was. A degree is only useful to idiots hiring people who believe they hold weight. It shows nothing about character, drive, passion, work ethic. That's the shit that matters not owh gee billy bob took differential equations and all these other useless classes that were requirements which he will never use. I agree the education system is shit. Simply basics are neglected like teaching someone about credit scores and how important they are but you'll learn Latin. Cuz that's real f'ing useful in real life.
