Took my Omega Constellation Megaquartz in for a service the other day.

I bought it new, back in the mid seventies, for the princely sum of 180. Estimate for the service - 1100. Not exactly what I wanted to hear - especially after forking out a similar amount on Mishka (our Vizsla) recently.

It's taken a few weeks, but I finally got the Omega back yesterday: they appear to have replaced a fair few bits by the look of it...

Apparently they also had to change the battery type due to environmental issues, which is not unduly suprising considering it's age, and the new steel braclet is considerably lighter than the old one.

Surprised that a watch that old can be repaired in 2015.

Somewhat ironically I'm still waiting on my 4/5 year old TW Steel - parts on backorder apparently.

In the same way that all cars have the same basic architecture - a box on (usually) 4 wheels, with a propulsion unit and means to guide and stop it. I would, however, argue that there's a world of difference between a Smart car and a McClaren P1.

Darn. Based on the thread title I thought is was going to be a funny story about engaging hookers on street corners.
I guarantee I'll tell you the truth and I guarantee I'll tell you what you need to know but I can't guarantee that I'll be telling you anything you want to hear.

Sorry to disappoint.
