Walked through Cabrini Green? I vividly remember driving through it as a youngster and being absolutely convinced that if our car were to break down, we would die. I can't imagine walking it. I've heard stories of cops not even wanting to set foot in that neighborhood. I think in its time, it was considered the most dangerous place in America.

Never fear...relaxed gun regulations in other states make it easy to get any kind of gun you want.

You seem to attract a lot of beatings. Maybe its you?

I used to live 2 blocks from Cabrini Green in the early 90's. Every night you could hear automatic weapon fire for about 15 minutes then sporadic single shots here and there. Definitely a scare place. It's what happens when you eliminate social programs that educate and stabilize people and their neighborhoods. Instead we hand them a few bucks so they can eat while living on the streets. Thanks Ronald.

Police station built right into it. We also used to have a specific/separate police force just for project buildings. I think they were disbanded after running from a fight leaving CPD to fend for themselves. [Link: highbeam.com]

If you ever need anymore just wait until the next shipment from Indiana or Mississippi shows up...or take a ride to any edge of the city and purchase from any of the neighboring suburban gun stores. Thats where most of the illegal guns come from.

0 came from Chicago...but thanks everyone else for arming our criminals. We appreciate it.

How many guns do you own? Then tell me how many you think are owned by others in the United States. Until you own them all and secure them all i really don't understand what you are trying to say here unless your guns tell all the other ones what to do.

Here are 50,000 that were recovered over a decade. Seems that your gun collection did nothing to stop their rouge relatives. [Link: nytimes.com]

Sounds like the stories told every day by strawman buyers who smuggle illegal weapons into the city. If only our country were smart enough to actually make us safe by requiring purchasers to pass a background check, complete a training course and account for their weapons periodically.

A bumper sticker was laughed at as being silly:
When guns are outlawed,
Only outlaws will have guns.
The comment about all the shootings in New York, where
guess what
guns are outlawed,
seems to provide confirmation of the "silly" bumper sticker.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

My ex wife grew up in Chicago, and told me there were areas where if you have a flat tire, drive it out on the rim.... I thought she was exagerrating until our experience.

We were walking through at night, 6 dorkey looking white guys in shirts ties, sports coats and slacks, a little drunk and talking loudly until the shit hit the fan!

True! 4 cop cars showed up. They looked at us in disbelief. They WOULD NOT get out of their cars. They made us kind of jog along side their cars to buffer us from the dudes trhowing bottle and rocks at us. We heard a couple of "pops" too. So we jogged to safety, the cops all jumped out of their cars and said : where are you stupid asses from anyway? How you didn't get killed back there is beyond us!

Even if they tried to outlaw or control gun ownership----it wouldnt change anything here in the Wild West. Thats one debate I won't get into. The U.S. has approx 300,000,000 guns.
