I know many professionals use this site and I truly appreciate the help of everyone on the forum. I am just curious how many of you got started in custom installation? I have done sales and numerous installs, but nothing on a large scale that I would consider "custom."

I actually was not sure where to post it, so I chose everything else.

it was not that it is the wrong place, but this is a general site for anyone interested in remotes (questions or answers) and so in this section it could be viewed by many that are not CIs and that won't help you while missing many CIS that only hang out in the lounge. The CI lounge is one of the few sections technically dedicated to CIs and so technically anyone that sees the thread there should be a CI.

Most CIs tend to be a little cliquey and stick to their own forum - including the, sometimes, vexed topic of OT stories.

I would say that you've posted your question in one of the appropriate forums, but as most CIs don't come here they're unlikely to see it - hence Mac suggesting you post in the CI Lounge.
