Okay, it's not Old Trafford, but it looks like we might finally getting some ground improvements going - as with everything around here, it takes a generation or two before the council finally get their backsides in gear.

It's all relative though. £720m may be an enormous figure, but for a club with the potential of MU it's not insurmountable.

In comparison the much smaller figures owed the majority of lower league clubs may not be so, though one could, quite rightly in my opinion, accuse some of being overly optimistic. Not only in offering players unsupportable contracts, but also building grounds beyond their needs, e.g. Darlington's 20,000 seater . . .

. . . the running of which being part of their financial problems.

By contrast HU's plans are considerably more modest. Yes I would love to see a new ground built, and with the Edgar Street Grid Project I cannot see why it can't be done, but I'll be content with the development of both ends, which should see the capacity back to the 10,000 mark. (Alas football has changed from the working man's sport to corporate business, so I doubt I'll ever see a return to the regular 10,000+ gates).

I honestly cant afford a season ticket but trying to get a ticket at reasonable price for any MU game is such a difficult task.MU is a corporate business and the new stands are so high its like watching the game from the moon! a few years ago i watched wimbledon vs MU at old trafford , then you could get tickets at reasonaable prices and in a decent seat not on the space station ..now you need stubs from previous games and be a member etc even with 76,000 capacity you cant get a reasonable price ticket.... my daughter has never been to a game but would love to ..simply down to cost and availability :(
