My question is (which you can't answer until we get some dealers/installation people/new owners to answer), is does it have codes for discrete IR codes for av input selection. I can stand not having discrete codes for things like power, as long as I can get it for av inputs.

To answer your question, Sharp LCD tvs have had discrete power and input codes for years, so there's no reason they would quit supporting those now. Looking at the Quattron model specs they all have 232 ports as well.
