Can the 24 x 8 swamp be used for a mono operation effectively being 24 x 16? I would need each of the 16 channels to have it's own volume control and be independent.

I have found no reference to this. I have only seen the reference to using the stereo channel to drive one speaker at a higher wattage.

Thanks

You can turn all channels to mono, the problem would be separate volume control. You could use the balance as a pseudo volume control but that would be mickey-mouse. Get them to add the Swamp 8.

Hi Thanks for the reply,

That's what I was afraid of, The person who was helping me with setting this up, said no problem it would work, The balance control won't work, what if you want both on at different levels or to mute one? I was originally looking at the Audio Authority SF-16M for this, spoke with there tech support and they said it would work, but now I see they have discontinued that line (although I can still get one), so I up in the air which way to go,

The cost of the swamps vs what I am using them for is the issue. The system we are installing are ceiling speakers for radio communication around a firehouse. Basically 2 or 3 speaker in each room with different two way radio sources.

any suggestions?

You could get them a pair of C2N-Amp-4x100. Less than half of the Swamp 8 and will do what you need for the other 8 channels. Or go on Ebay, see what's there.
