DMX-3000 is a program that uses DVD profiler for making up configs with cover art, etc. for Sony, Pioneer and Kenwood DVD changers. DMX stands for Disc Manager eXtreme.

It will (maybe already does) use another program for use with CD's in the future for the same mega-changers (and possibly some CD changers that use the slot number for selection).

URC is incorporating a template in some of their configs on the authorized dealer site that includes room for the DMX-3000 addition.

The writer of DMX-3000 was contracted by URC to work with them on this.

The entire DMX-3000 thread on Remote Central can be found here. although it maybe should be moved to the Complete Control Forum.

Edited to include more than just the Sony DVD mega-changer.

Actually the DMX-3000 works with other DVD changers too, not only Sony. I hope the same will apply to CD changers, as I have one from JVC (I am fairly certain it will work).

From JVC? I was unaware of anything other than Sony, Pioneer, and Kenwood, but then I was also specifically looking for DVD Changers at the time.

Does the JVC have a method of selecting a specific disc from its slot number?

Bracken, yes it does. I presently control it with a Marantz RC 9200 and SuperNudelist, si I feel pretty confident your software will be able to control it as well (except for the track selection I guess). I think the model is called XL-M334 or something very similar. It's a 200 CD changer. I will be happy to describe its disc selection method to you once I find my CCF for the Marantz.

Does anyone know if the Sony 300 CD changer works the same way? If it does, I may buy it instead of the DVD changer.

@cgroth,

Excellent, any info you can give would be much appreciated. If the Pronto can control it then the MX-3000 will be able to as well.

@GregoriusM
If you are specifically wanting it for CD's then yes definitely go with the CD changer.
