I've got a couple of items that have no remote control. I'd like to remotely turn them on/off with my MX980's.
Are there any remote controlled power outlets that are compatible with URC?

It would be helpful if you could point me to some.

Despite Redbiker's claim, there are really NO good options to purchase anywhere.
There are a few items on AliExpress, but look very janky.

There is this DIY build you can do yourself: [Link: instructables.com]

I'm using X10 stuff. Look at their website.

I actually emailed AliExpress about those last week, asking if any suppliers made them in NEMA 5-15P but never got any response.

The DIY looks like too much of a project for me.
I'd rather move on to other stuff before engaging in that mess.

Thank you, though :)

I did discover that Z-Wave makes 15A outlets with one of the two outlets which can be controlled by URC.
Price range was $50 and up.
Have not researched this much as it's a lot more than I want to spend and it required ZWave which I don't know much about.

I can already pick up an RF remote to do what I want.
I'd just *rather* have my URC do it all too.

I looked at X10 and found they have some 12v triggered stuff.
I must have missed their IR triggered stuff.
I'll look some more. Thank you.

I picked up what I needed on e-bay. If you get anything to turn on/off led lamps, make sure you get a device that will work with led lamps. Some of the older devices have leakage current to detect if someone manually turned on a lamp with the lamp's switch. When a led lamp is used, that leakage current causes the led lamp to faintly glow. One of the models can have a couple of parts removed to stop the leakage. I don't have the model number handy, but it you need it, let me know.

You said you are using MX-980's. That's CCP. How is it you are going to control Z-Wave devices?
As far as I can remember, you can not control systems like Z-Wave, Clear Connect, ZigBee, etc. with CCP. And no IP control off the handheld remotes for CCP either.

Now if you start using URC Total Control systems, then this would be easy. They have a Shelly Plug US that is WiFi controlled and only $15.90 retail.

If you have the means and ability to install some switches and outlets, you can run outlets off these, which would be directly controllable by CCP remotes.

If we go the used route, he could get this for the same price:

And wouldn't need the extra URC pieces to control it. IR direct from remote would work.

He wouldn't need an extra piece with what I posted either.  It would be direct RF with no worry about pointing

I never did the old version of URC lighting when it came out, so I thought there was a special piece that needed to be added to the system.

Does the new version of URC lighting also connect direct or need additional parts?

I stay clear of any of the proprietary lighting the control companies come out with. Lighting is to important of a service to gamble on these companies, knowing they might discontinue or change the service causing a nightmare for us and the consumer - such as URC has done!

Nothing is needed.  Remote communicates directly with switch.  No RF base or anything is required.  The newer URC was Zwave (PUKE), no thanks.  I moved on from URC thanks to TC and my local landfill requesting I stop piling that crap up there.
