Grandparents purchased a new tv, model TCL 70S430 4-Series, S430/S434. They purchased the urc mx-780 remote years ago. I'm now trying to re-program the remote using the Residential Complete Control Program (4.11.1013.1) and of course the TV model is not in the database. I've gone through every model tv under tcl testing, looking for discrete power on/off codes with no luck. I've found toggle but that's no very useful.
I then noticed that the TCL remote would actually turn on the TV if you hit the netflix button so my thinking was to find the HDMI code and that maybe that would do the same a turn on the tv. Well now i'm having a hard time finding those.
Anybody have any advice here? I simply need to turn the TV on, off and choose the input.
Unfortunately they purchased the TV more than 30 days ago otherwise i'd return it.
TCL and URC both were not any help... neither sounded like they were even capable of providing any real support.
