I just purchased a used MX-890 which came with programming installed. I would like to copy this programming to CCP to use a a template for my new programming. When I go to communications/get from remote and select MX-980, I get an error message telling me "uploaded error, cannot connect".

Is there a way to get around this issue? I do not know if the existing programming was installed using CCP or the older software.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

My understanding you can only send the program to the remote, not read it from.

First, the error you mention sounds like a bad USB connection.

Otherwise, is it the MX-890 or MX-980? You need to select the correct remote to upload.

If the remote has the previous owner's devices, you should be able to upload to CCP.

If the remote was reset to factory default, IIRC there is not a "real" program, just some buttons that look like a program.

Either way, I think you would be better off starting from scratch.

What operating system are you using on the computer? Win XP, Win 7, Win 8, or Win 10?

I believe the MX-980 (if that is what you have) requires Windows Mobile Device Center v6.1 installed. There are some tricks to getting that to work with Win 10.

I'm not sure what the MX-890 needs for drivers/communication (if that is what you really have) as I don't own any of those.

Original poster was a spammer!
He just copy pasted from an old post here.

He has now edited his spam links into the post.

I honestly can't see how these a-holes can possibly make enough money doing this, to make it worth the effort.
Get a job at McDonalds for f' sake.

Thinking about it... these people are probably worthless trash. And they have been fired from every low brow job they have tried to work at. Mother Nature's natural selection just doesn't work anymore.

They had a job once?
