I have a JVC DLA-x700 projector and the remote doesn't have buttons to select anamorphic A, B, or off. I found some hex codes in a file on JVC support site and imported them into some buttons on an MX-990 using the universal browser in CCP, but they are not doing anything. The IR flasher flashes so I know it's sending something. Anyone have any insight on this? Is this a known issue with JVC and URC? Are there certain tips/tricks that I am missing? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Link to the hex files you are trying to use?

Or at least post one of the codes you're trying to use. Either the code isn't compatible, or your device doesn't support the code.

Thanks for the replies! I’m getting the codes from this file from JVC:

http://support.jvc.com/consumer/support/documents/2014%20D-ILA%20Remote%20Code.pdf

format seems correct. Seems to be for my model (DLA-X700r).  The page I downloaded it from is here:

3rd one down “2014 infrared remote.... ver 0.44”

Well the long hex code is what you want and I have used that support page and codes before on JVC projectors. So I know they are good.

What happens if you import some of the other codes and try. (menu, input, etc...).
If those don't work, then has to be something in the software.
Are you routing IR thru a base station? Have you tried the codes, sending them IR straight from the remote to test?

Thanks for the reply. I tried other commands via hex and none worked. I changed to direct IR and the hex codes still do not work. The regular datatbase buttons work in all these tests, but no hex.

The remote control / projector has TWO infrared codesets. Yours might be set to the alternate (since the hex document says that its codes are for the "A" mode).

To change:

Setting the Remote Code on the projector is done through the setup menu, under the FUNCTION group, which is near the end of the list.

It is set to the A codes. Has been the whole time. This is baffling me. I can’t see any reason for this not to work. Is there a history of hex issues with CCP or JVC? CCP updated says I have latest version.

The MX990 firmware would have updated when they downloaded their program to the remote.
[edit]: Just realized you were probably talking about the JVC projector.

----------------------

Something you may want to try, switch the JVC projector to respond to the other code set (as Daniel described above); [also make sure the firmware on the projector is up to date - see above]. It could be the code set JVC is publishing, is actually the B code set. Despite the fact they are saying it is the A code set - it happens.
I remember a long time ago, some Sony A/V receivers would come setup to respond to alternate code sets (1 of 3 if I remember correctly) and I would have to either switch the receiver or use an odd database set.

I will give that a try. The JVC seems to be up to date. It is firmware r1211.6 and I don't see any reference to any more recent build than that.
Thanks.
