This works great for the play and pause. Can someone post the hex code for rewind and fast forward? These buttons work fine when using Netflix on the Apple TV 4, but when playing a movie rented from Apple TV 4 the fast forward and rewind buttons don’t work. Can someone post the hex code for fast forward and rewind?

Does anyone else have this issue - fast forward and rewind work when playing movie in Netflix within appletv 4 but do not work when playing movie rented via Apple within appletv 4?

Late to the thread, but related question:

Using the ATV 4th gen's remote learning feature does not prompt for learning two buttons: Home (the "tv" button to the right of Menu) and Siri (the microphone button). Any guidance on those two? Are they available as IR?

And before you jump on me: it appears that if Siri voice is turned off in the ATV's settings, the Siri/microphone button goes directly to the search screen - so it does serve a purpose without the Apple remote's built-in microphone

Siri is not available as an IR code.

To simulate the home button, all you need to do is adjust the repeats on the menu IR code.  crank that up to like 10 or so and it will hold the command long enough to simulate holding down the menu button, which will take you to the home screen.

No problem.  Another code that may interest you is a the reboot command:

0000 006B 0000 0022 015B 00AD 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 05D3

you can import that into your file by using the universal browser/hex tool

What is the code for the Apple TV 3 ir codeset?

I see code 476 for "Apple TV" and code 917 for "Apple TV 4th Gen [codeset for learning]", but I don't see one for "Apple TV 3".

Thanks.

All the previous versions of AppleTV used the same codeset.  Only the new ATV4 is different.  Much of it uses the sames codes, but with the touchpad it uses, it allows for gestures like press and hold.  The ATV4 codeset is used to learn themcodes into the ATV4

Hi everyone,

I know this thread is old, but I have a follow up question to the group.

I used the 917 codeset in an MX-780, then setup the programming on the Apple TV remotes section. Seems to work ok at the moment (still doing a bit of testing today).

That "learning" or teaching ATV what to use, doesn't include the home button or the siri button.

I did the setup with the "menu" code at a 10 repeat level and replicated the "short press" of the home button functionality. I haven't been able to get the "long press" of the home button where it brings up that side bar on the ATV home page.

Has anyone been able to get that functionality to work? I tried setting the IR repeat up to 30, tried sending the menu code a couple times, but those don't work.

Just curious if anyone was able to get that extra functionality?

Thanks!

Use AppleTV 3 Codeset and than add this hex code for play and pause:

0000 006D 0044 0000 0157 00AC 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0689 0157 00AC 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0689

I used this hex code and it does work on my ATV 4 but only via IR. It does not work via RF through the MRF 350. All the standard ATV codes work via RF but it seems any hex or learned codes I try do not like to work via the MRF 350. You can see the IR lights flash but it does nothing. Has anyone else run into this?

Just use the ATV4 codeset for learning and learn those commands from the remote into the AppleTV

OK so up until now I haven't had any problems with ATV 4, until today. MX-780 remote and ATV 4- most everything seems to work except the left and right arrow buttons. Left gives a sound like you are at the end of a roe or column or row, right takes you to the top of the home screen. I tried the learning codeset for ATV 4 and went thru the learning process, I tried using the code set for ATV 5 with the same results. I used the ATV remote app for my phone works like the app should. Any ideas or anyone have the Hex commands for the ATV 4 to try. I have a 77-125 of these if the field with no issuses yet. Any thoughts.

Thanks in advance
Barry

CruiseGuy24 - Now that you mention it - I had the same issue - I entered a couple of HEX codes, but my MX-780 sending codes via MRF350 and nothing worked. I ended up using the ATV4 codeset and learning them into the ATV, and then added a makeshift "short home press" by using the menu code in that set to repeat 10 times instead of the normal 3 (at least normal in my setup).

I still haven't found anything that functions as the "long home press" (the one that brings up the side menu to put the ATV to sleep, etc.).

Hope that helps.

BFINN - I just tried my setup and all the keys are working ok on my ATV. All software is most current versions.

I no longer use Apple TV codes on the new models. I use a Denon DVD player from the database, and then I learn all of the codes into the Apple TV. Hasn’t failed yet.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.
