My previous remote was the MX-990 which I really liked, but I love my newer MX-4000 even better.

I’ve used most of them going back to 2002. I keep a 790, 890, 990, and up til awhile ago, a 5000 in my truck. I let my clients decide.
For budget it’s the 790. After that, side by side, when they see the buttons light up on the 990 and imagine themselves watching videos late in the evening and actually seeing them (hello 890), it’s a done deal. 990s outsell all others at least 3 to 1, maybe more.
The 890 got a running change from what I have seen, and the formerly invisible button lighting now is slightly visible. But next to the 990, they are toast.
The best thing about the 890 is, if you drink coffee, you get to drink a whole lot more programming an 890. The download time is measured in light years. The 980 was the download speed champ.
