Lowhz,
Thanks for your question. What I am trying to find out is this:
1)Will the software that comes on the cd update to the newest discrete codes from the urc database?
2)Will the software update the firmware of the remote?
3)Will the software update itself?
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
1) No. It will have the discrete codes that were in the library when that CD was pressed.
2) Possibly. It depends on the firmware already in the remote and what is on that CD.
3) Possibly. There is a button for live update. There might be an update, there might not be.
Remote firmware fixes background problems that keep the remote from being programmed correctly. Don't think that you're going to magically get a working remote. That thing is a blank slate (literally) and you have to invent the user interface and macros using the commands that are either built into the library or what you can find from other documentation or teach in from another remote.
I don't like that model at all. Didn't like it 10 years ago either.
