I just installed two 900's and 1 MX-3000 using the MRF-250's. Each separate remote works great with all discrete codes being IR and sending all using RF and controlling the TV's (on-off) by IR. There is no problems and all is well. I was installing an MSC-400 to the equipment room to control some house wide components and came up with a question for all the other Pros that either had this idea or never came across it.
The MSC comes with an RFX-250 (newest RF gateway) and needed to be relocated somewhere else in the house because of the size (only 3500sqft) and being in the basement found that only a few spots were not covered in the house such as the 2nd floor master bath.
I do have cat5 running to the spots where the other RF bases & antenna are located and running home. If I plug into the RF out from the basestation in the bedroom, can I potentially use that RF to send it down to the MSC400 and connect to RF in, or do I have to RF in directly from the RF reciever only? I guess I was thinking I can relocate the RF reciever from the basement and stick it next to the other RF reciever being used for the 900 in the bedroom system. I tried it and it did not work that way, but wanted it to. I was hoping I could utilize all the RF recievers from the all the other local systems to also work with the MSC-400 down in the basement. At some point I will add the house controls to the 900's too but for now everything does work. I just figured that engineering dept. may know something about using (1 reciever and sending rf to 2 different base stations), rather then the way it waas intended (2 recievers to 1 base). It just seemed like a waste to have all different RF recievers next to each other in the bedroom was too much when one would do the trick just to get the mast bath some reception.
Thank you for any/all input,

BNC, What I would do is connect a couple of additional RFX-250s directly to the MSC. I believe you can do this just the same as you could with the MRF-300/350. That would be the best thing to do. I am trying to utilize the existing RFX antennas from the other two base stations and be able to not have five antennas. I could have had multiple RFX on the MSC and then an RFX for each other IR base station. So why can't I use an existing RFX to capture for the MSC also? In one location I have a bedroom with a 900 and RFX base station. I had to install another RFX just to send to the MSC in the basement over cat5, but wanted to use the existing RF to send to the base staion in the bedroom and the MSC down the basement.
