I,ve done most of my CCP programming using windows XP on my laptop which recently died!
I've also done programming on my windows 7 64 bit machine using XP inside a virtual PC.

I haven't had any issues programming my MSC-400, MRF-350 MX-5000, MX-880 in windows XP using either set-up!

I recently purchased a MX-1200 and couldn't get it to connect with Windows XP.
It seems URC doesn't support a XP driver; so I had to use my Windows 7 64 bit machine to program my MX-1200.

Here is where the fun begins....... I am still using a MSC-400 in my system.
As you know CCP doesn't support Windows 64 drivers for the MSC-400.
In order to program this set-up, I have to do all my programming in Windows 7 64 bit and then save and send it to the MX-1200.
I then have to send the file over to my virtual machine and use windows XP to download to my MSC-400. It's a pain in the arse to say the least!

I've recently purchased a new laptop, however it also came pre-installed with Windows 64 bit.

My question is if I downgrade my laptop to 32 Bit will I be able to download to both the MX-1200 and MSC-400 using CCP?

You should be able to download to both using Windows 7 32-bit. I'm doing the same thing on a virtual machine on my Macbook Pro.

It works in Windows 7, but you have use the pro edition in XP mode. The msc-400 doesn't work on the home edition. It is not whether it is 32/64 bit.

I have no problem using Windows 7 and downloading to the MSC-400 in XP-mode. I can't download to the MX-1200 in XP mode because URC doesn't support a XP driver.......that is the problem!!!!!!!
Read my post again!

Can you download to the MSC-400 using Windows 7 32 bit?

Sorry, I misread you post. I read it on my phone.

I'm not sure if 32bit is a problem. I have a problem with the MSC-400 and win 7/64bit even in XP mode. I have to use my old XP laptop to get it to work. URC told me I need the Win 7 professional and not Home edition.

No problem!!!!

URC are correct!
Windows 7 professional 64 bit with virtual PC and and a copy of Windows XP will allow you to work in XP! From here downloading to the MSC-400 isn't a problem!
Downloading to a MX-1200 however is a problem in XP!

The program files in CCP show a MSC-400 Vista driver? My gut instinct tells me that 32 bit will allow me to run CCP in Vista compatability mode and download to the MSC-400 and MX-1200!
I have a new laptop without any software installed, so I think I will give it a shot!
