I just bought this TV.

I made sure the MX-900 remote updates were installed but my TV still is not listed.

Does anyone know what other model to use that will work?

I also have a Yamaha HTR-306 Receiver that is not listed.
Anyone know what other model will work for it too?

Thanks,
Debbie

So what other LG and Yamaha codes have you tried so far?

I tried over 30 different model numbers on the LG list.
Tried 'Power on' or just 'power' then point the remote to the TV and clicked 'Test'

It has everything but 'LM' in the models listed.
Lx
Sx
Cx
Px
RU-x
MU-x
DU-x
M4x

Nothing has worked.

Correction on the Yamaha model above.
It should read HTR-3064.

The list for 'Audio/Yamaha' in the HTR range starts with 5140.
Within the HTR-xxxx there are a lot of 5xxx, 6xxx, 8xxx and 9xxx models.
I have tried several random picks from these.

I also have the LG BD-620 3D Blu-Ray play that isn't on the list either.

So are I have been able to do a 'Point to Point' for most of the buttons needed.

I think when it comes down to it...
What I'm really wanting now is to be able to get into the LG TV 'Menu' and be able to use the arrow keys and enter key on the MX-900 to pick and choose what I want so I can put the TV 'Magic Remote' away.

Thanks for the reply.
I downloaded the software but this TV does not have a serial port to connect to my PC.
I also don't see any models with LM in them.

Is the remote in IR mode? if not you will need to put the remote into IR mode so you can download the codes and test them Line of site to the TV.
Most LG codes are the same

Is there an a emitter on the TV? Is it in the correct place? Are you blocking the IR Sensor on the front of the TV with an emitter or emitter cover?

It is a IR remote: MX-900.
I also have a IR base.
I have had this remote setup for about 10 years so I have always been able to just push the buttons and it works.

I have never had to point the remote to anything until now.
I would have no idea how to change the remote from IR to RF.

If you did not have to point it, you have an RF base, not an IR repeating kit. RF captures the signal over radio frequency through an antenna and then converts the signal to IR, which is then sent to the TV over emitters that are placed over the "eye" of the TV.

So, the problem could be as others were getting at, that the remote is set to IR for the new TV. Being that you have had the remote for so many years, I am guessing you have the standalone software, which defaults to IR and RF, so it sends signal both ways. So is there an emitter placed on the eye of the TV? If yes, does it flash when you are pressing a button under TV?

The suggestion to set the remote to IR only is a good suggestion. There is no chance of any signals repeating and canceling each other out. You would be best served to do this, point the remote at the TV, and test the buttons. If you do not know how to set the remote to IR, just ask back in this thread.

Thanks for explaining that.
I do not have an emitter placed on the eye of the TV. I would have no idea where the eye is.
And again I have an emitter base that points towards the device cabinet and TV. It also has a small extension base that plugs into it and is sitting about 10 feet away. I have never had to put an emitter onto the eye of any of my devices. I have never had to point the remote towards the devices for it to work.

I can look into switching the remote in the software, but by doing this.... will it allow me to then do a 'point to point' learning from the TV magic remote or would I be doing this so I can use the software you directed me to?

Ok, I got 'Point to point' working.
I had some commands already assigned to the buttons I was trying to learn from my old TV.
I had to remove them first.

So of course I have to point the remote to the TV but it will now go into the menu and the arrows work to get around.

My problem now is when I click 'Enter' to open any icon it brings up a pop up saying "Registering new magic remote control". Then after about 15 sec it says "Registering failed".

Does anyone know a way around this?

Thanks,
Debbie
