just a tip:

when using an RF base station, it is a good idea to add all the devices to the configuration and alias each command that you need to use in your macros.  then use punch through to assign all the hard buttons.  this way you can assign an ir port for that device and the rf routing will always be correct even if you need to add commands from multiple devices to the same macro.

when you drag ir commands into macros using the database, they will only route to the port assigned for that page, so if you have two devices that share the same codeset, they will be responding to the same commands.

even if you are not using an rf basestation, this method will make it easier to change out devices in the future.

In a nutshell you are saying to use an alias and not drag an IR code from the database. I'm with you on that.

I would reiterate that best practice would be to put the most frequently used macro (usually watch TV) on the main ON button, then for the watch TV button in the LCD, alias MAIN ON.

May not be so critical on the 900 but if you use an MX450 now and then, you will have to do it that way. YMMV.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

Good points DT. I learned that long ago but have since forgotten due to not using these as much anymore.

I'm still perplexed how having his RF ID wide open caused his issue.

Me too Tweet. When I get back over to my buddies place, I'm going to turn on Anynet CEC on the BDP and test the power on button of the 900. That seems to make the most sense to me. I'll let you know of my findings.
