I am having trouble keeping the IR flasher from the MRF-350 attached to the front panel of equipment I want to control. Is there some secret to attaching these and keeping them attached? Is there an alternative to using the factory supplied dual sided sticky tape on the devices?

You can use a little dab from a hot melt glue gun. I'd apply it to the flasher and then press the flasher onto the equipment. Or you can use something like these which will have a larger sticky surface area. [Link: smarthome.com]Or these: [Link: smarthome.com]

Have installed hundreds and hundreds of these without a single one falling off on it's own. We use the extra pads that come with the base stations on other manufactures IR eyes.

Do you clean the equipment before sticking the IR emitter? What did you clean it with? Once the emitter falls off, you need to replace the double sided sticky or use cover or the hot glue method.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I did not clean the panel, just removed the manufacturers protective plastic overlay sheet. I probably should have used an alcohol cotton swab first. I also used an extra piece of Scotch tape across the cable going to the emitter. That seemed to help a great deal - keeping the weight of the 6-foot cable off the emitter.
I keep forgetting about hot melt glue being removable. If they come off again, I will clean the front panels and use hot melt glue to put them back in place.
