Hello,

I have an MX-980 programmed with all of my components except a popcorn hour c200. How do I add a new button and device to support this? I cannot seem to get it correctly, I cannot seem to get a new device on a watch page.

any help appreciated.

You need to follow along the Program drop down steps. Most importanty you must first create a device and drag it onto the page you want it to reside on (there's even a popcorn icon you can use). You then need to create the page layout for that device with a template. You then can use the IR DB to add the commands to that device if they are present but I don't believe popcorn hour is. So you'll have to learn them manually or copy/paste them in via the universal browser. I've posted the codes before on this site. Search for popcorn hour and my username. Don't forget your volume punch throughs and RF assignments if necessary. That's the gist of it. Post back with specific questions if you need to. Good luck.

Thank You, worked.
One final question, how do I change the "theme" of one of the WATCH pages?
I added an icon to it and the background became white.

Thanks for the assist.

Right Click on the white background and choose to move it to the back. If that's doesn't work click the white background and then on right side of the editor you'll see the image preview. Click into that and navigate to the backgrounds folder for the editor and select it. It will likely cover your icons so then right click and move to back.

I am in the same sigutaiton as Chett, but cannot seem to add anything beyond the initial device. When I go to Program, then create a new device, I hit next and it brings me to a screen where I believe we are intended to select a theme and add pages. Unfortunately, I cannot get CCP to bring up any Themes to add pages. This has worked in the past. Any suggestions?

I had the same problem, but I was using the upgradable software and not CCP. I discovered the issue when I tried to install a new device to my MX-980. After a lot of playing around with it, and asking for ideas here, I thought it might have something to do with Win 7-64 bit. After trying everything I could think of, I decided to install a version of Win 7-32 bit that I had lying around to another HDD, after I installed MX-Editor in the 32 bit OS, the Themes and Pages came up just as they always have.

Run as administrator on Win 7 64.

I do run MX Editor as Administrator in Win 7 64, and I can do almost everything, including "Create and Name Devices" with the Editor. But when I go to the next step, "Create Button Layout" the "Select Template" and "Select Button Layout" boxes are both blank.

I uninstalled and re-installed the software many, many times and nothing worked until I installed it in Win 7 32. Now everything works fine when I boot to Win 7 32.

I really hope 69VanNuys doesn't have to jump through the hoops I did, but at least he's aware of someone else that has had issues. BTW, I've had URC remotes since 2003. I started with the MX-700, then moved through the 800, 850, 950, and finally MX-980, so I've very familiar (although no where at the level of many folks here) with programming their remotes.

Haven't used the editor in years just CCP, he's using CCP and my answer was based on this. That's why I quoted HIS post.
