Can't speak to a 723, but the Hopper 3 will accept both RF and IR at the same time (as I suspect all will).

Simply pick channel 1 on both the remote and the URC IR command set (if you even gat a choice) and set the Dish to 1 as well . . . Dish remote on RF, URC on IR, works fine . . .

Not sure where the idea came frkm that it's IR *or* RF . . . that's just not the case!

If you need to run a different codeset, then set the Dish remote to IR and the desired number. Learn those commands in the URC, set the Dish back to RF, set the RX to that number and works as well.

Been doing this for years on a 7xx series RX, and / or Hopper3 and Joeys . . . never fails.
