Hello There,

I have built a series of pages for control of my satellite receiver. On the "Favorite Channels" page, I have a series of four buttons along the one side that provides the user direct access to any one of four pages of favorite channels.

Is there a way to use variables to have the remote return to the last viewed page of favorite channels, rather than always returning to the first? Say I select "Page 3" of the favorites, and then power up the DVD player via the remote. When I return to the "Favorite Channels" pages, I would like to be returned to Page 3 (the last page of favorites I viewed).

I think variables woud be a way for the remote to remember what page I was on, but I am very unsure how to do it. Would someone be kind enough to give me some help in building this functionality? I have only a small amount of unsuccessful experience with variables in the MX-3000.

Thanks in advance for your help.

In the jump macro pane/window select from default jump " navigate - " to navigate to the previous page no matter where it was. You can have any number of devices jump to a single page and a single button on that page to return back to any page you navigated from.

There are two ways of doing this. The easiest is to use the "navigate-" method described above by Ken. This method works great as long as the user always "Returns" back to the originating page via the "Return" (navigate -) button without changing to any other page in between.

If you want to be able to return to the correct originating page regardless of where and how many pages have been navigated in between you need to use the nested variable method. If you want to use this method email me (email is in my profile) and I will send you my file and explain the process. It gets a bit involved but would not be to bad with only four Fav pages. I have done it in my rcc with eighteen Fav pages.

LJCKBailey,

Believe it or not, I had a major email issue over the weekend and irretrievably lost your email with the variables instructions. Would you be able to resend it to me? I really want to take a a look at it.

Thanks!
