I've had an mrf 250 and a mx-950 for quite a while (two years) and lately I've notice that my commands take several retries to "work", especially on turning off/on my projector (Sony VW50) using discrete codes. Nothing has changed and I cant seem to narrow the problem down to anything definitive, it seems that I've just had a gradual degradation in terms of successful "clicks". I am using the wires that come out of the mrf 250 and stick on the boxes. The battery indicator on the MX950 shows a full battery and I have reloaded the program to the 950 several times. Any ideas of what the problem might be or how to diagnose it better ?

Thanks

What equipment are you using(cable, dvd and etc.)? There are a lot of DVR's that have a high rf output. A lot of them have been updated to make the hard drive handle more digital recording.

If you change the MX950 output to IR, are you having the same issues?

My DVR is a DirectTV HD model (cant remember the exact model #)--- This could be an issue, since I think the trouble increased after I switched from comcast to directtv.

I suppose I should try this. If I have no issues with IR only then the RF is the culprit.

Turn the RF code on the bottom of the MRF-250 to "0" and it will light up the second LED when there is RF. If you move it around till you don't have any RF noise then change the RF on the bottom to any other code then "0" or "1" and have the remote match that same code you should be better.
