The manual says you can add up to 1024 RS-232 commands to a device. When I open the window it lists the hard keys and 8 pages of 10 LCD buttons. The manual says to double click on an empty slot and add the commands. There are nowhere near 1024 slots, there are approxamately 100. How do you add more open slots? I want to add 120 commands.

It sounds like you are looking at an IR device.

Click Program > 2. Devices and Routing > Add new device.

Now give it a name, make sure you select the serial database radio button, select your MSC and port and select OK.

Click Save and Exit.

Now, double-click the device you just created and add your serial commands.

I've done what you suggested, however when I double-click on my device it opens the Connected Device window. I then select the MSC-400 and the device I want to add the commands to at the top. The area belowthen fills with all the serial commands I added from the data base with numerous open slots. Once I use up all the open slots I need to add additional slots. According to the Complete Control User Doc, I should be able to add up to 1024 commands here. I can't figure out how.

At the bottom slot you should see a *. Just click that slot and you get a blank command. Enter the command details and save it and it will automatically create the new slot needed.

I don't see an "*" anywhere in the window. I'm looking in the "Connected Device" window, is that the correct one, or should I be looking elsewhere? BTW, I have downloaded the latest update so that should not be an issue.

Yes, go to Connected Devices and expand the device you want to edit. You should see a "Funcs" page. Double click that and you get your list of commands. Selecting an existing command lets you edit it. If you want to add a new one just scroll to the bottom of the list and the last command entry will just be a *. Selecting that gives you a blank command which you can then edit and save.
