I have had an MX950 for ~ 1 year. Got the remote on ebay. got the software from URC, and got it programmed. recently added an atlona 4x1 hdmi switch (AT-HD41D) to add a few more inputs to my denon.... I recently, last week purchase a mx980 from a dealer, got the atlona switch programmed in, and it works. Now I just need to get the mx950's working...

I cannot figure out how to control the switch with the mx950. tried looking in the IR database, v 1.80, no joy, tried to learn the codes from the oem remote, no joy, tried to program my old harmony 688 and learn from that, no joy. 2x learning, standalone learning, press and hold, tap it once...

What's strange about the learning, is the remote and software will say it learned the code, but it will not control the switch...

The guys at atlona sent me some "codes" Customer code = 866b, data = ranges from 00 to 1F for the digit buttons but no power. What I need is a ccf type file of my mx980 programming. I have the CCP and now way to create a mx980 mxa or mxf file.

any help appreciated..
andy

Open the Universal Browser (Tools > Universal Browser), locate the 980 file with the desired codes, locate the desired code, and drag it to the button or macro window.

Make sure that you've done a Live Update if that doesn't work.

My 980 software is the CCP. The MX950 software is MX950 Editor and it will not pull up *.ccp files. So I don't have a mx980 .mxa or mxf file to load in.. Actually, the CCP universal browser will not open a *.ccp file either.

Usually, when I need some IR codes not in URCs DB I program my harmony with that device and Learn it to the URC remote. I have an old h688 harmony. Not RF so I can't use any more.

thanks though

Do the database codes for the Atlona in the CCP work with the MX-980?

Yes. programmed the switch as a device and it worked first time.

Unfortunately, there's no backwards compatability with CCP. Makes programming MSC-400's on other URC remotes a pain. And makes your 980/6000 files useless for other remotes, too.

If you have the regular MX-980 Editor, the Atlona IR is in the database. I actually show the HD41D in my 950 Editor v1.88 - code #568. Have you done a Live Update?

That particular model of Atlona is in the CCP database, as well.
