I'm having trouble getting my MX-850 macro to work with a learned button. I have a Sony CDP-CX455, and I'm trying to create a "top artist" series of LCD buttons. In order to do that, I need to sequence "Top Artist"+"(number)"+"Enter" in a macro. I learned the "Top Artist" button into another LCD spot in a hidden page, and it works fine by itself. But it is dutifully ignored in the macro (I already tried adding delay time).
Any thoughts on what is causing this? This isn't the first time I've had challenges with macros. I'm also getting components turning on and off that aren't even in the macros I activate with the remote. This is getting VERY frustrating.

Did a hard reset to factory default, and re-downloaded my programming. Fixed the other mystery macro issues, still having a problem with the learned macro not working in the macro I created.
Interesting that I had to search this forum to get the information on how to do a factory reset - it wasn't in any literature I have so far. Is there a users guide beyond the MXEditorProgrammingManual?

try placing an useless command in front of the "top artist" command such as the input function for a tv that you dont have.

Put a delay in front of the command. somtimes the codes are too long, and get screwed up.

Bring the command to an unhidden page. I've seen issues with commands not functioning that were on hidden pages. Give that a try and let me know if it helps. Thank you, Damon DG = = = = = http://www.ProRemotes.com - Authorized Dealer & Remote Programming Service

I've got the macro currently working - I found an IR code that duplicates the TOP button. But I'll take some time and try out the suggestions here and get back with you all.
Thanks for the feedback - give me a few days to get around to it, and I should have some answers.
