I think we should start a Forum Dedicated to URC's software policy for the complete control line.

Perhaps it should be called: URC's Completely Out of Control Software

This way I would know where 90% of all the whining, and the individuals too lazy to do anything about it are posting!

It's simple people, if you recently bought a remote and can't get software, return the unit to where you bought it. (URC will love getting all these remotes back to be repacked and refurbished!) URC has put the burden in the sellers lap.

If you bought it quite some time ago, call URC. Be respectful, but unwaivering in telling them exactly what you expect... you expect what you bought, software that supports live update. If they can't accomplish that, tell them you wish to return the remote for a full refund. If they won't refund your money, tell them you'll be happy to take them to small claims, and be ready to follow through on the action. I think you'll find that this will get you what you need.

Contrary to some of the posters here, on eBay you'll find URC remotes with some great prices with legal software and live update available to you. URC has fixed nothing with this policy.

I don't agree on all points, but I must agree that the numerous threads on it are out of hand. I want to go to those forums and read about the remotes themselves, not a bunch of arguments.

Not really. It's for the HTM and Consumer series. Not arguing, as it is now. If you were around before all this, you'd remember that it was actually for technical remote discussions.

I have a better idea, give the users the liveupdate and that will get rid of all the complaint threads.

I wish you would not even bring the subject up here. As OTAHD indicated, the URC forum (when it was one forum) did bring technical assistance and discussion to those who needed it. Now it is a disaster. If not for the two threads now being separate, and this one being a tech and not a software whining thread, I would avoid it altogether.

I wish you had just not mentioned it here. Let's stick to tech stuff entirely. That is where the value is for me and at least a couple more of you here.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

Yes, I agree it was much better before, everyone had "Live Update" and knew where to find their software.

Wouldn't it be nice if URC made things back as it was before? I think so.

I read the forums before the CC forum was created, my point was if you prefer technical discussion why did you post this thread in the CC forum which had until now been pretty much just technical discussion?

Anyway, fact of the matter is, there's just as much technical discussion going on in the URC forum as there is in this one, and if the CI's are unhappy about the bickering that goes on in the URC forum, perhaps the CI's should just stop bickering?

It's kind of hard to have a 1-sided argument.

Richie,

Your a self serving, cry baby little bitch. I'd love
to paypal $500 to Dan just to delete these threads that
have become your little personal vandetta and to ban your
pathetic ass from RC. You have not added a stitch of
value to this site and have really made it a place I am
finding easy to dislike. It's obvious you have ZERO respect
for anyone that does this for a living as you feel you,
Jon and the rest of the world could easily survive without
us. You have become a man on a soapbox screaming the
rage of a DIY guy. We CIs are not out to do anything
but our job. You are a f*ing disgrace.

I second this statement. Please remove all those threads. This place has become so negative I can't stand it.

Where are we? AVS?

No, you are in the real world now where a company treats its customers with respect or they may lose them for life. URC's customers need some changes to correct problems that have affected them.

First. Go f*ck yourself. RC isn't your f*ckin soapbox, you piece of sh!t. Do you get it you hard headed douche' bag? Your thick! You've made your point, now shut the f&&k up. I have heard enough. We have all heard enough. Now, go crawl under the rock from which you came and leave. You add nothing here. You do nothing constructive here. This is Dan's site for those interested in remotes. It's not a site for you to bash a specific company. Go attack there site. Make your own damn site. Whatever. Just F%CK!NG LEAVE! You have eloquently stated your thoughts now LEAVE!

Dan, you can delete this post if you want. I am certain that you feel this way too but are too much of a gentlemen to handle this guy. So, I'll do it for you. Ban his ip. I'm all for free speak but do it where it's the intent of the site. This ain't it jerkoff.

DO YOU NOW F()CK!NG GET IT?

Classy oex.

You guys prattle on like Rich is spamming the board with new threads on the topic everyday... outside of new customers who've been effected by the policy it's been all contained in one thread ... and noone said you ever had to click that thread.

And even so, the only reason that thread goes on and on is because the CI's keep throwing logs on the fire.

And some of you CI's accuse me of being the one making you look bad??? If you supported customers that needed it with the problems this policy has caused it would improve your image, and probably your business. But instead most of you have an attitude of "nah nah should have bought from me instead" and try to bash me for saying these customers need changes to help them and that it was wrong for URC to make changes that effected many of their customers badly. Wow I really wonder when some of you guys will get it.

The AVS wannabes ought to just form their own forum where they can bitch together.
