It would be nice to have a P/H time of .5 seconds. This seems like a very easy update.
I do have an option for 0 seconds but I only use that when nesting negative macros. (sarcasm)

I usually do 1 second. It seems to work fine. Make sure you flip to a please wait page or sound fx so they realize what happend.

True. I do think it would be nice when navigating through menus though. You can use the cursor to navigate up/down line by line and also use press and hold macros for page jumps. One handed operation without leaving the cursor. Maybe not for most apps, but sometimes one second is a little long.

i had considered this idea, but then decided it was a bad one as then you cant hold down the cursor, so you would have to go one selection at a time! same if you had a press and hold, you could ony do it once then have to press and hold again... i like to burn through the list by holding down the cursor, or go super fast by holding down page up/down.

I use P&H to jump pages from the main without running the source select macro for TS purposes.

Its been my experience that .5 is (at least with URC) a little to short to be useful for anything but my home system.

On my home system (quick and dirty install because I'm always changing stuff out) I have a 350. I know its not a 980 but I figured it was applicable. The 1T macros run from the main page on a .5 sec P&H delay, while the direct page jumps to the source pages go if you can push the button in under a half second.

I still haven't told my wife about this. That is to say the .5 sec P&H is equivalent to a "firm" push. If I want to jump around the pages without running macros, I really have to get my finger ready and quickly tap that damn button to get under .5 sec.

I'm not so confident in the distinction to have used the feature in a client's remote yet but there are a few scenarios where I could see it being useful.

C'mon, I thought I would have gotten a little more support than this. Actually, on my Motorola 3416 cable box (which I am not thrilled with as far as software/firmware) I have the P/H set for 1 second which gives me line to line scrolling with <1 second press, page to page scrolling with 1 second press and if you continue to press it goes into the speed scrolling.
Besides if it did not work on yours, you can always nest p/h macros to do one thing with an instant press, or another thing with a 1 second press, or yet another seperate thing with a 2 second press, etc. It would be easier to fine tune for speed though if we had more options like .5 seconds and 1.5 second options.
If your user can't handle that you can also insert beeps for notification and info/help pages, etc. This isn't the only app, just an example, nor would it always be for everyone but I would like the option.

For some circumstances I, too, would find 0.5 sec to be very useful. It's surely a trivial thing to do in the software (or am I wrong?), so why not include it for those who DO want it?

I use a Dish netwok DVR

I'm ready to set my channel up / down arrows (hard keys) as page up/ down because up / down double as channel up/ down in live TV and because I almost never scroll channels w/ channel. up/ down.

But I do like the press/ hold idea on the cursor. I assume you could integrate it with a variable so you could shut it on / off.
