Quick question. Oh and BTW, I absolutely love the MX-810 and had no problems getting it to behave (sans 1 issue). I did cut my teeth on Pronto CCF's and Harmony's web-thing...so had some structure.

Anyway, QUICK QUESTION:
Is it possible to have the FAVORITES activity mapped to a device button. So when I turn on TV, instead of going to the TV buttons on the screen, I can have my FAVORITES (activity) present there as well. Or something shortcutting or punching thru.

Thanks to all who dwell here and provide wisdom to us.

Unfortunately the programming software for the MX-810 is designed to be very Linear so that it is very simple to setup for most single room installations, and basic house audio control, One of the biggest complaints of the software is that you cant assign ANY button to have ANY function, which is a limitation of the software itself... still a pretty darn good remote for its class.

The short answer is no. You can't program a device/activity page jump (which is essentially what you're trying to do) to a button. A specific jump can only be achieved via an activity.

Thanks for the excellent advice. BTW Mike, loooooving my MX810 and got huge wife approval factor over Pronto (old) TS1000 and Harmony 880's.

Programmed everything I needed (sans the one preference above) in about an hour with MINIMAL tweaking needed.

Thanks for advice and great support

Interesting. Although not as hard to program as my Pronto TSU-2000, I've found the 810 to be not easy to program. For instance, why can't (or how do I) make a page for an activity also have channels? In other words, I already have an activity of "watch TV", and I just want to have a page of buttons for jumping to my favorite channels. I can program an activity (Favorites) to do this, but this doesn't make sense to me (why do I need an activity for 6 channels?).

Also, the software is poor. I have several devices with nothing in the database (eg, Squeeze Box). I've had the problem -- several times -- where I'd try to select a type of device (eg, music server), and the program simply would not let me do this. I had to kill the program and restart.

You can program macros on individual buttons on an activity page by using the Universal Browser to drag in multiple commands to a button. Using that, you can put favorite channels on an activity page.
