Has anybody tried controlling this tuner via the direct IR in on the rear of the unit? Their stuff is reasonbly controllable and reliable but I cannot seem to control it via this port. I've tried the usual compliment of raising/lowering the IR output, switching polarity, etc. Just wondering if anybody has had any luck before I call their support. Thanks.

Rob,

They may be running too hot, but I'm not totally sure. Most of the items I've tried via direct IR in wouldn't work with a direct 3.5mm connection from the MRF-300...cable, sat, receivers, dvds.

I think URC needs to allow for IR to be decreased further than is allowed currently.

Thank you,
Damon DG

Here's a link to a post about which resistors to use.
Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.

Here's something interesting: I did end up sucessfully controlling the Nuvo tuner, by using nothing more than a narrower gauge wire (and much shorter) than I was originally using. This was completely unintentional, as I couldn't imagine it should make THAT big a difference, but it sure did. All 3 mini-to-mini cables that I tried tested out fine, but just the 6 incher worked. Bizarre!
