Greetings, I am new here this is my first post.
I have an MX-900 that I am setting up for use on a television show.
We are just now learning how to program URC's products so that we can eventually use the MX-3000 as a prop on a major tv show.

I have studied the online training guides and completed the programming tutorial for the MX-900 and been able to make it work great with a couple of exceptions.

I had to "learn" the IR codes from a Media Center (2005) remote control and managed to get everything working properly, however the thumb navigator button (left, right, up and down as well as select) only work once each.
In other words if I am on a screen that allows navigation of menus to the left or right, or up and down I can only go one setp left or one step right and conversely one step up or one step down.

The same thing happens when I try to use the channel up or down buttons.
I can only go up one channel or back to the previous channel.
I cannot continue selecting channels (up or down).

Anyone have a quick solution for that? I have gone back through the training sessions to try and find the missing link to no avail.

Thanks!

Dauv

The problem you're describing sounds like a "toggle-bit" issue.
There are two different sets of codes for each command. The original remote would alternate each code for successive button presses.
Search the forums for toggle-bits and media center, there may be a different code set out there that will help.
Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.

There's a registry setting you can change on the MCE system to disable toggle-bit checking - search for "EnableDebounce" and change it from 1 to 0.

That was GENIOUS
Thank you for that tip, it worked perfectly!
Now my only question is why is there no easy way to program the remote to handle this issue?
Another thing I am noticing, is that there seems to be ZERO information or codes for programming the MCE remote functions to any of the URC remotes?
It was however exceptionally easy to "learn" the remote codes for the MCE remote.
Now that I have every single button and function programmed for MCE into the MX-900 I would think someone else would like to have these as a preset?
If there is a way for me to save them and upload them I wuld be happy to do so if you can guide me through the process?

Thanks again for the help!

There are plenty of Microsoft Codes already in the IR Database.

Tools / IR Database Navigator / AUX / Microsoft /

I used these codes for my Linksys Extender..
However the codes I learned from the remote work better.. It may be the difference between Microsoft codes and Extender codes... Who knows..
