This TV doesn't have discrete video modes on the remote and the discrete codes in the IR database don't work with this TV.

The CH+ then TV/Video also doesn't work since it doesn't seem to start at Video1 after a CH+ command sends it to the TV tuner.

Does anyone have a work around or have discrete video codes that work?

Check out my file in the files section for the TH-50PX50U. I'm sure the codes are the same for both the 42" and 50" models. My file contains workarounds for the inputs. The MX-900 file is for my entire setup and I have a seperate file for the MX-700 on the Panasonic only.

You can download either one and import them into the universal browser and drag just the codes you need onto which ever button you want to.

To discretely switch video inputs create macros consisting of the "video" button followed by the number of the input you are switching to. No delay is needed if you are using IR and not RF.

I think it's crazy that a nice plasma TV by Panasonic doesn't have discrete video inputs while my 5 year old Sony table projection TV does.

You would think in this day, all equipment would have discretes.

I had to use a 6 second delay between power on and video switching.

You might want to put a video switch in the power off command. For instance...the first 3 steps in the power off macro would be
1. Video
2. Input number (i.e. "3")
3. Power off.

Even if I have the AVR switching video I always do this with power off so that if the customer switches the input accidentially, they can reset everything with a power off and power on. I would take it and the AVR to the cable or satellite input since this is what is most watched.

I accomplish this by making the Power On of each device page execute a macro which sets the correct inputs/sources/power for the device they are currently in if the original macro failed for whatever reason. That way if the input selection or any other part of a macro fails all the customer has to do is push the "Power On" button. Since the remote is already on the right page for the device they want to watch/listen and the macro on the that devices "Power On" button ends on that devices page it works perfectly.
