The base unit MRF-300 has and RFX-250 attached to it via mono plug. The RFX-150 was wired to the 250 via CAT-5 and run up to the bedroom. For some reason everything has stopped working. Is this possible to do?
THanks, V

I don't think you can use them together.

Pete... Pete, thanks for your reply. Can anyone verify this definitively?

Not sure of the compatability of using the 250 and 150 together, but I've been told by URC that if you want to use multiple RFX's, to wire them both to the phoenix connector. Plugging one in and hard wiring the other won't work.
Also, why the need for both? They say the 250 is supposed to have impecable range.

For some reason this guy's cable box (Scientific Atlanta) is given off an absurd amount of einterfernece. This guy wants to be able to control his cable box from upstairs in his bedroom (his cable is also connected to his upstairs tv) becaus he is too cheap to puick up a second box. Have had RF problems across the board with this setup which were only made better when the 150 was replaced with the 250. The 250 will not reach his bedroom well enough to control without problems, so we were going to place them on in hte bedroom as well. The 150 connected to the 250 did not work. Are you saying to connect both 250's to the base unit? Or 1 to the cat5 connects on the base unit and the other to the cat5 connects on the 250 antenae?

You should be able to connect both antennas to the MRF-300, but in parallel, not in series. Both need to be connected to the MRF-300 via the 3-conductor RF input. Now that the MRF-350's available, that should help solve future problems. Mike www.SurfRemoteControl.com

Actually from taking the MSC400 training, they don't recommend using the RFX150 and RFX250 both on the same system.

Yeah, since it tends to defeat the purpose of the 250, but it should still work.

Definitively: Do not connect an RFX-150 and an RFX-250 to the same MRF-300 or MRF-350. They are not compatible. If you need more range, add a second identical RF receiver. If you are using RFX-150, add a second RFX-150. If you are using RFX-250, add a second RFX-250.

I dont have a MRF300 in front of me but from what I remember there is one mono plug and one 3 connector plug for the extender. I am curious how you "could" wire this in series .... not saying that I want to, just dont want to do it wrong. You are suggesting to wire in parrallel meaning wire both cat extensions to the same input on the MRF?
Likewise how would you use 2 mono plugs on the same MRF? 2-1 adapter?

Likewise how would you use 2 mono plugs on the same MRF? 2-1 adapter? I think the idea is to take the mono plug connector out of the equation and splice both sets of wires from the 150's or 250's together, and connect to the pheonix port. VB-

It is parallel whether you splice two RF receivers to the depluggable screw connector or whether you connect one RF reciever to the 3.5 mono mini socket and the other to the depluggable screw connector.
You would have to work at a series connection Corey, but of course it could be done and it wouldn't work very well.

Is that also where the -ism came from when my wife told me to unthaw the hamburger?

There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions. |

You know, I am really embarrassed. I know I have said something unintentionally funny. I know that it has something to do with being depluggable and something to do with screw connections...
I guess I am still an innocent... Just can't put it together...
