do they only work with urc's? because a friend of mine has one and he wants to use his pronto with it.

IR extenders? Yeah, they extend IR. Which is used by Pronto. So yes, if you're talking about IR extenders, it'll work.

But a URC RF base station won't work, if that's what you're implying.

oh i'm talking about the mrf series, so i'm guessing that won't work.

Nope, the MRF series are the base station for URC remotes. They won't act as a base station for a Pronto.

I don't need one oex. i'm doing a thing for a friend who has a logitech and one who has a pronto. i found 2 mrf stations at a store for $30 each. i bought one and i tested out and it didn't work. i thought i was doing something wrong so i just came to here.

If add a RS pyramid, you can point pronto at the pyramid, which then communicates with mrf-100. : )
