I am trying to get the RD base station working with my MX-3000 but with no sucess.

The 3000 is certainly talking to the 250 as each time a button on the 3000 is pressed, the status light on the 250 lights.

There is no interference as indicated by a stable (either on or off not flickering) status light on the 250.

However, the 250 seems unable to control my equipment.

The 3000 works fine when used with just IR.

Any ideas?

Are the Base station (250) and the MX3000 on the same ID Number.

Yup, they are both talking to each other, just it seems the 250 has no effect on my equipment.

I cannot see anywhere on the 3000 to set it's ID, all I know is you can have multiple 250's which each have an ID.

My current configuration is set to ID 0.

I can see the dial at the bottom of the 250, not sure what it is set too though as it is very small.

Right well I have gone back to basics, started over again, tried everything as per the manual.

The 3000 is sending data to the 250, the 250 is receiving data, but, none of the equipment is responding.

However, when I just use the 3000 and point it to the equipment, it all works.

ID 1 is for F interference sniffing. Set the MRF300 to ID1. This is done on the bottom of the MRF unit. Slide the cover back and you will see the dial.

In the MX3000 software, at the top of the window you should see a little antenna. Click on the antenna. A window should pop up and at the bottom you should see where you can change the ID. Change it to ID 1. Then it should work.

Here is a list of things to try first.

Change the ID on the base and remote to anything but 0
. Click Program>7. RF Control in the 3000 Editor software then click the receivers button to set the ID and turn off the blaster (should be off by default)

Make sure each device is set to RF ONLY.
. do NOT set it to RF and IR

Make sure each device is set to a specific port
. Port 1, Port2, etc NOT ALL

Make sure the front blaster is set to OFF

Please report what You found. These things are all very important you must ensure the equipment is not receiving an IR signal from two different sources. If operation is still not good, you can try moving the flasher away from the component a little bit to reduce the amount of IR light that the component receives. The last thing to try is removing the antenna from the MRF-250 to see if that helps.

Thanks for the replies.

I am a little confused however, as, I do not want to use the sticky flashers, just the front blaster.

When I am testing for RF control, I cover the front of the 3000 so there shouldnt be any IR coming through.

The front blaster is next to useless unless perhaps you have glass shelving, or you position it on the opposite side of the room and point it at the gear, or you just get lucky bouncing the IR off walls and between gaps.

The unit is placed in front of my open AV rack. Infront of that is a sofa end which obscured the kit from where I sit, so, I am simply using it to overcome the obstacle. The unit itself is about 4 feet away from the equipment pointing directly at it.
