Could anyone please tell me if programming an MX-3000 for a Dish Satelite receiver is a problem? Someone told me you cannot program Dish with the URC products.

Can someone confirm this or tell me otherwise? Is there ANY type of issue with this type of system?

Thanks

I would say that is non-sense. It is possible that some Dish manufactures have some trouble with hot IR commands, maybe. But to say all I imagine is incorrect.

I have programmed many MX-3000's to control Dish receivers, both HD and SD, most using the standard database codes, and have had very few problems.

Only issue I recall is the trial and error placement of the emitter onto the 942 HD-DVR from the MRF-300, but did get it working.

I believe I heard that on the Dish Network dual tuner receivers, the second tuner is controlled by RF only, which would mean it could not be controlled by IR. Maybe someone who knows for sure can comment on this.
Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
Any wire cut to length will be too short.

I will concur that Dave E is right about the second receiver is RF only and can not be controlled by a URC or an IR remote.

Dave T is correct. You cannot control the 2nd tuner if it is RF only.

Two things to try...

1) Make sure the receiver is set to receive IR (check your menus and remove RF antenna)

2) Make sure you have the default address set for the box - you can always use your MRF to address multiple boxes

Let me know if this helps.

Thank you,
