I imagine if it was still under warranty, and I couldn't fix it myself, they'd just fix it.
But I'd hope they would have been smart enough in the design to protect against a reversed connection given the likelihood of the mistake being made.
Worst case, a fuse should blow.
And that is a user servicable part, and should cost no more then a few dollars to replace.
Fortunately we don't have to throw away our cars whenever something wears out on them, or breaks due to an accident.
