You can use something like Girder which is an IR code to keypress converter and requires a USB IR/T module (not sure if Girder will support built-in one) and the Girder software. You might also search to see if they provided support for SerialKeys which would allow you to send keyboard/mouse commands via RS232 to your PC.

Google for SerialKeys or try F1 Help from Win7 to see if you have support for this. Of course, if you don't have RFX9600, then SerialKeys is not an option.
