I am trying to update the programming of an MX-850 on a new Win XP PC (not the one it was originally programmed on about a year ago). Unfortunately, as soon as I try to upload the current configuration from the remote I get the following error.

Error detected while communicating with your remote control.
ERROR CODE: 101-07UU-0000
The COM port is being used by another program. Please identify and exit the program that is using the COM port.

I don't understand this error message as the MX-850 editor is set up to use the COM 1 port and the connecting cable is plugged into the COM 1 port. I have also noted that the LCD panel on the remote constantly repeats a sequence of self test results during all the time that the remote is connected to the PC.

Any guidance would be much appreciated.
