The Properties window is not actually a settings
window you have to keep opening and closing or
applying the settings from, it's closer to an
undockable toolbox. Everything you do in there
is instantly applied to the button you were working
on without clicking on the "X" or needing an "OK/Apply"
button.

If you leave that window open (assuming you have
enough screen real estate) you can simply click
on another button and start working on it...

Well shut my mouth!
Didn't know that. I could see using it that way maybe 10% of the time, but if I'm moving around from page to page, or device, it still gets in the way. I like being able to see how pages look and interconnect, visually as well as operation wise. Feels like it's a restriction, in a way. Opening what needs to be changed, closing and then carrying on with a simple keystroke would keep more of the editor in view.
Now if I could resize the properties windows, then it could be left on top. Most of the time, only the upper 1/3 needs to be accessed.
Guess I'm just so used to the older editors, it naturally feels faster.
Thanks for the tip, Daniel.
