I think sony assumes that you are going to plug them into a switched outlet on a receiver anyways.
I leave them on and usually don't use the switched outlet. The power down macro does have a few Sony-CD-Stop commands. Only time I really have this is with the 5 disc changer. But I have beaten sales into not selling those and going to some sort of server. Even if its as lame as an ipod on a table.
I need to put in a DLO to see if it is something that makes customers happy. Ipods on the wall that you have to get up to select a song... that is just a joke! But sales thinks its OK because they used to get a real nice spif to sell them.
