Most remotes you have to Learn the discrete codes with a cheap remote and the Neo is no different, I don't think that an update would change this, as the other Pronto's don't support it either..

Best bet is to by a Cinema 7 or one of the Radio Shack remotes to learn the discrete codes.

The updated software for the NEo now supports uploads, but the uploaded IR code is lost as soon as you try to "Cut & paste" so can't really think the .ncf files from others will help either..
