I think you are right. I started off with PE and I think it is what you are used too. I find PE took some getting used to, but once you got the hang of it the work went fast (short cuts for everything) and I think the differences come from who the software was designed for. NE was designed for the consumer, so it is easier to start with, but PE was designed for the installer, so the more you use it the more tricks you learn and the faster it goes.

what the $200 more would buy here.

Let's be honest, there is no 200$ difference between the two. $100 at best and that is with a charger. I think it is a matter of taste and nothing else.
