I had a similar problem except my echostar 2700 was UHF only. Only option for me was a new reciever. On the newer recievers I've heard that the address has to be set to 1 and the antenna removed. There is a post in the regular pronto forum detailing how they did this, but mostly the detail says they had to contact dish network CS. If you haven't tried to learn the commands to your remote go ahead and try that. Newer recievers shouldn't have to be switched, and the remotes transmit UHF and IR at the same time. I got a PVR501(very cool) and the echostar codes didn't control a thing. The remote learned just fine to the pronto though, and we now use the OEM in our upstair and the pronto in the living room. I would love to post the codes, but I have yet to get the new filmware and don't know where to put our ncf's yet anyway. Actually both my pronto learned commands from both my new and old echostar remote so I would have two codesets if I could upload them. Hope this helps.
