This thread is kind of old, so I'm not sure if you have solved the problem or not. I ran into the same problem when I bought the remote 2nd hand for 10 bucks. Thinking I was getting a great deal, I ran home to program it and realized that I couldn't connect to the computer. Philips sells one through their website for $15 plus shipping. (2 or 3 more bucks) I received it in about 2 business days.
