bob,
i noticed on another forum that the new software update now includes higher-res icon compatibility for the 1000, or they're a new size?... i'm not sure what the new aspect ratio of the icons are. can you find that out for me and post? if it's close to the one's icon size i may be able to simply do a batch conversion of those to work on the 1000.
