When you get an el-cheapo remote like the URC-3021 you are limited to whatever codes are pre-installed in the remote, so if you buy a newer device that uses a new code, you're outta luck.
I would recommend that you buy an upgradeable One For All remote because you can then ask OFA to load the code into it when this occurs.
Alternatively, you could get yourself a JP1 compatible One For All learning remote, along with a JP1 cable, and add the code yourself. For example, I could sell you a URC-8910 remote for $19, plus a JP1 cable for $15, plus $5 shipping for a grand total of $49, which would give you a totally future-proof remote.
